Reverse Engineering คำๆนี้ หลายๆคนเคยคุ้นหูมาตั้งแต่สมัยมัธยม สมัยที่เรียนว่าญี่ปุ่นเขาทำอะไรมายังไง จึงทำให้ประเทศของเขาเจริญรุ่งเรืองได้ทุกวันนี้ แรกเริ่มแต่เดิมทีนั้น ญี่ปุ่น เค้าก็อาศัย ซื้อของจากต่างประเทศมาเหมือนบ้านเรานี่แหละ แต่สิ่งที่แตกต่างก็คือ เค้าซื้อมาชำแหละ ดูไส้ข้างในว่ามีอะไรบ้าง แล้วก็ลองสร้างขึ้นมาใหม่ด้วยตัวเอง จากของก๊อป กลายเป็นของที่มีนวัตรกรรมใหม่ๆ ในทางคอมพิวเตอร์เช่นเดียวกัน แต่ศาสตร์ด้านการ Reverse Engineering นั้น ชื่อเสียงไม่ค่อยดีนัก เพราะคนส่วนใหญ่ จะรู้จักคือ การ Cracking Software ซะเป็นส่วนใหญ่ แต่ก็นั่นแหละ การ Reverse Engineering นั้นเปรียบเสมือนดาบสองคม ในมุมมองหนึ่ง เป็นแหล่งทำลายทรัพย์สินทางปัญญา ที่นักพัฒนาล้วนอยากจะต่อต้าน แต่ในอีกแง่มุมหนึ่ง คือตัวช่วยชีวิตคนทุกคน

In session "How to: AJAX + Google Bots", The speaker (I cannot remember his name) he suggest to NOT use pure AJAX by reading AJAX book and doing by yourself. He suggest to use AJAX framework such as prototypejs.org, scripteka.com. So, I will following his suggestion to see what I can do with them.

Linux FTP Command mput operation

By default ftp command provided in linux doesn't support recursive upload and verbose mode. If you would like to transfer some of files to new location and its contain some of folder, you should use ncftp command to transfer.

# ncftpput -u <remote_username> -p <remote_password> -F -R <remote_hostname> <remote_directory> <local_file>

-R - Recursive
-F - Use Passive data connection

ปกติแล้วเวลาย้ายข้อมูลระหว่างลีนุกซ์ผ่าน FTP ถ้าหากเรามีหลายไฟล์ โปรแกรม ftp มาตรฐานที่มากับ linux จะถาม confirm ทุกไฟล์ที่เราต้องการจะย้ายไปที่ไดเรกทอรี่ใหม่ ถ้าหากเราต้องการย้ายข้อมูลจากเซิฟเวอร์หนึ่งไปยังอีกเซิฟเวอร์หนึ่ง อาจจะไม่สะดวกนัก จริงๆมีโปรแกรม ftp อีกตัว ที่สามารถใช้งานได้เหมือนกัน และไม่ต้องคอยตอบคำถาม และยังย้าย directory ได้ด้วย นั่นคือโปรแกรม ncftp

# ncftpput -u <remote_username> -p <remote_password> -F -R
<remote_hostname> <remote_directory> <local_file>

-R - ย้ายข้อมูลทั้งหมดในไดเรกทอรรี่นั้นๆ
-F - เหมาะสำหรับเครื่องเซิฟเวอร์ที่อาจจะมีปัญหาเกี่ยวกับ Firewall อันนี้เป็นคำสั่งให้ทำงานแบบ Passive Mode

I hope that they will provide autoupdate script in a future or I will do it by myself because IP address may be reassign to another country when the time is going.

Send the jobs to background process.

If you running foreground process and want that application switch to run as background process, what you needs to do is, press ctrl+z (Process will temporary stopped) then execute `bg`. This command will continue the final tasks in background. I have done this in ubuntu. (Not sure for another operating system).

ถ้าหากมี Process ที่สั่งทำงานอยู่ แต่ว่าต้องการที่จะเปลี่ยนให้โปรเซสนั้นๆย้ายไปทำงานในโหมด Background สิ่งที่จะต้องทำก็คือ กด Ctrl+z โปรแกรมจะหยุดทำงานชั่วคราว หลังจากนั้น สั่ง `bg` โปรแกรมจะเริ่มทำงานต่อในโหมด background.

WHMCS and Thai language (UTF-8) Patch

Build from WHMCS -- The Hosting Billing Software does not take full support for other languages except English. You can see that the PDF invoice show incorrect characters. For Thai language who use UTF-8 can use the following patch

Tested with following system

WHMCS 3.6.2 (Default System Encode: UTF-8)
Thai language translation file (UTF-8)
UTF-8 Database (Thai language in database cannot reading)
TCPDF 4.0.018

DirectAdmin: PHP enable IMAP,POP3 with SSL

Current version of DirectAdmin (a hosting control panel software) didn't build a php compiler with IMAP features, if you would like to compile custom PHP compiler to install web application such as eTicket, osTicket, SugarCRM and so on... you can build by DirectAdmin script as below

For Apache 1 with no suPHP, configuration file at /usr/local/directadmin/custombuild/configure/ap1
For Apache 2 with no suPHP, configuration file at /usr/local/directadmin/custombuild/configure/ap2
For Apache with suPHP, configuration file at /usr/local/directadmin/custombuild/configure/suphp

Edit configuration up on your PHP compiler version, for me use configure.php5. Insert into the last line

"--with-imap-ssl" \
"--with-imap"

Save and quit.

Now, install some library may needs to compile new PHP compiler. For Ubuntu use below command

# sudo apt-get install libc-client-dev libc6-dev ca-certificates

Now, build new PHP compiler

# cd /usr/local/directadmin/custombuild/
# ./build php d

Try <?php phpinfo(); ?> on your web server, you should see imap extension.

eTicket: unable to get local issuer certificate

eTicket is a support ticket software which is email-base. If you use Gmail or Google Apps account, you may found the same issue like me as below.

Notice: Unknown: Certificate failure for pop.gmail.com: unable
to get local issuer certificate: /C=US/ST=California/L=Mountain
View/O=Google Inc./CN=pop.gmail.com (errflg=2) in Unknown on line 0

Please note that this message will shown when you edit automail.php to enable error display (line 11) `error_reporting(E_ALL)`. The problem above will shown when you do not have any CA certificate installed in your system.

If you use Ubuntu 7.10, you can solve this problem by install `ca-certificates` as below command

# sudo apt-get install ca-certificates

Now, the error should be gone.

Drupal and Global Variable

Today I found a problem with Drupal. I embedded my snippet code to Page content which will be include my project file. The structure is like below

/ (Drupal)

/project/setting.php

/project/interface.php

My drupal snippet code is "include(/project/interface.php)" and interface.php is include setting.php.

The problem occurs when it call function in interface.php, it cannot use global variable which I declare in setting.php. Yes, I already put global var1,var2,var3; input my function in interface.php. Finally I found that I must put the same into setting.php file as below

setting.php

global $var1,$var2,$var3;

$var1="abc"; and so on.

Which these may help someone who get the same problem like me.

Microsoft Vista: Install Apache and PHP

Today, I try to install apache 2.2 and php 5.2.5 in my vista machine for serveral hours. This is my path configuration in case that you may found the same problem like me.

[Installation Step]

Install Apache MSI package
Install PHP5 package
MySQL, you can do in any step.

[Installation Path]

Use a location which not "C:\Program Files\" because it needs UAC permission and it hard to config your apache configuration file. (For me, E:\Service\Process\Apache)
My Installation path of PHP5, E:\Service\Process\PHP525

[Configuration]

E:\Service\Process\Apache\conf\httpd.conf, Check a bottom of the configuration file, PHP package already install a location for you.
#BEGIN PHP INSTALLER EDITS - REMOVE ONLY ON UNINSTALL
PHPIniDir "E:/Service/Process/PHP525/"
LoadModule php5_module "E:/Service/Process/PHP525/php5apache2_2.dll"

I found that it is a fault of installer package. You needs to replace '\' instead of '/' as below

PHPIniDir "E:\Service\Process\PHP525" # No Backslash at last character

[Testing]

Verify your temporary session directory is not read-only
Verify your temporary upload direcotry is not read-only
Verify your PHP Path (E:\Service\Process\PHP525\) contains php5apache2_2.dll file.
Check the file you needs from httpd.conf which PHP added for you
LoadModule php5_module "E:\Service\Process\PHP525\php5apache2_2.dll"
Verify your httpd.conf has correct syntax
E:\Service\Process\Apache\bin\> httpd -k config <enter>
No error return
Put simple php file to htdocs directory
<?php phpinfo(); ?>
You should see php information page.

There are some teachnical skills which related to Software Engineering. Design Patterns is a one of that. This book introduce from programmer, software developer and software designner.

ถ้าคุณเป็นนักเขียนโปรแกรมภาษา PHP ละก็ คุณไม่ควรจะพลาดหนังสือเล่มนี้นะ วันนี้ผมได้ลองอ่านหนังสือเล่มนี้ใช้เวลาสองชั่วโมงพลิก E-Book จนจบ และมันเพิ่มความรู้ในหัวหลายเรื่องจริงๆ เหมือนได้ทบทวนความรู้ที่ได้เรียนในวิชา Software Design ซึ่งหนังสือเล่มนี้ ได้กล่าวถึงทั้งแต่ระดับเบื้องต้น จนกระทั้ง การเขียน PHP แบบ Object-Oriented จนกระทั้ง การประยุกต์ใช้ Design Patterns และการวางโครงสร้างสถาปัตยกรรมซอฟแวร์ รวมถึง Deployment ด้วย

ASP.NET Website deployment

I found some problems when I try to deploy my ASP.NET website into wwwroot directory of IIS7 service. It isn't work. The characteristic of my website is include 3 projects together. one is a website, one is a business logic layer project and the last is data layer project. Two project wrote with C# and needs to compile to be Dynamic Link Library (DLL) file that needs to use in a website project. However, when I try to deploy, the code get fatal error with message that it cannot find the link reference such as com.swdev package which I import to ASP.NET code. I cannot find the good keywords that should be use to googling the solution for me. This is my step

Zip website folder on development machine
extract to folder inside wwwroot
start IIS7 service, Ms SQL Express
Open IE7 with http://localhost/deploydirectory/

Adobe Dreamweaver CS3 and Microsoft Windows Vista Issue

I try to install Adobe Dreamweaver CS3 on Microsoft Windows Vista machine but cannot be success. Now, It take time over 1 full day and I will not continue anymore. By the way, there is workaround that might helpful for you.

ผมได้ลองติดตั้ง Adobe Dreamweaver CS3 บนระบบปฏิบัติการ Microsoft Windows Vista มาตั้งแต่เที่ยงคืนวาน จนกระทั้งบัดนี้ก็ยังไม่สำเร็จ แล้วผมก็คิดว่า มันใช้เวลามากเกินไปแล้ว ซึ่งผมจะไม่หาวิธีแก้ไขต่อ อย่างไรก็ตาม มีวิธีทางเลือกอื่นอยู่บ้างที่ทำให้คุณสามารถใช้โปรแกรมได้

The way is install on the clean system. - -' (Not kidding) Because there are no more workaround for that. If you install in the clean system, it will successful. In my case, I install in virtual machine (VMWare, or you can download Microsoft Virtual PC for free via Microsoft website)

วิธีการที่ผมหาได้คือ การติดตั้งบนระบบปฏิบัติการที่ยังไม่ได้ติดตั้งซอฟแวร์อื่นใด (ใช่แล้ว ผมไม่ได้ล้อเล่นหรอก) เพราะว่ามันไม่มีวิธีแก้ไขปัญหาอื่นแล้ว การติดตั้งบน Vista ที่ยังไม่ได้ติดตั้งโปรแกรมอะไรนั้นประสบความสำเร็จเรียบร้อยเป็นอย่างดี. สำหรับในกรณีของผม ผมได้ติดตั้งโปรแกรมบน Virtual Machine เพื่อที่ว่าจะได้ใช้โปรแกรมบนเครื่องที่ผมทำงานอยู่ได้ (ถ้าหากคุณไม่มีละก็ แนะนำให้ดาวโหลดได้ฟรีจากเว็บไซต์ของ Microsoft, โปรแกรมชื่อ Microsoft Vitual PC)

Linux - time Command

time is a command available in linux which use to summarize resources that the focused process used. Sometime, it is use like a test tool to see what resource used when the process get things done such as cpu time, memory, context switch, cpu time (user mode), cpu time (system mode)

time เป็นคำสั่งที่มีมาอยู่ใน Linux ทุกตัว (เท่าที่ทราบ) ใช้เพื่อการตรวจสอบการใช้งานทรัพยากรของโปรเซสที่เราสนใจ ซึ่งหลายๆครั้ง เราใช้มันเหมือนเครื่องมือในการทดสอบประสิทธิภาพ ซึ่งให้ค่าออกมาเช่น cpu time หรือค่าจำนวน clock ของ cpu ที่มีการใช้งานจริง หรือ cpu time (user mode), cpu time (system mode)

When use time command, I don't know why my time command cannot specific some parameters. Sometime it's look like cannot use any parameters meanwhile man page show some of parameters. After I looking for information, I found nothing. No any pages descript about this problem. Do I really one person that silly? No, I won't to be like that. I'm thinking for a bitt and I think that sudo command might help in this solution. Yes! it work! well done. All parameter can be use at this time.

ผมพยายามจะใช้คำสั่ง time บนลีนุกซ์มาสักพักแล้ว แต่ไม่รู้ทำไม Ubuntu ที่ผมติดตั้ง กลับกำหนดอาร์กิวเมนต์ให้กับคำสั่ง time ไม่ได้เลย ทั้งๆที่หน้า man page ก็มี parameter ต่างๆตามปกติ หาข้อมูลใน google ก็หาไม่เจอ อาจจะมีหน้าที่กล่าวถึง แต่เนื่องจากคำมันเป็นคำที่ basic มาก เลยหายากมากด้วย สุดท้าย ก็เลยมาลองนั่งคิดเอาเองว่า มันเกิดปัญหาอะไรขึ้นกับเรา หลังจากนั้น ไปสกิดใจนิดนึงว่า เออ เป็นไปได้ว่ามันจะใช้ privillage command ที่จะต้อง su เป็น root ก่อน ก็เลย จัดแจงลองดู แล้วก็พบว่า มันใช้งานได้จริงๆด้วย เย้! หลังจากนั่งลองกับ tcsh, csh อยู่ ซึ่งมันก็ไม่ได้เกี่ยวข้องเลยสักนิด
